This is a conversion of a Debon C300 cargo trailer. It’s a braked trailer with a maximum gross weight of 1300kg. Including the conversion, the trailer weighs around 750kg. The trailer has covered very low mileage and is in excellent condition. It has anodised aluminium side walls. With its excellent Pullman 2 suspension it is very comfortable and stable to tow.
This is a subtle conversion so from the outside, only the windows and solar panels suggest something different to the cargo trailer it is based on.
I’ve used lots of reclaimed timber to finish the walls and cabinets which creates a natural feel to the interior.
It is well insulated with 25mm rigid board on floor and walls and 50mm recycled plastic insulation on roof and front curved area. With the 2kw diesel heater it can easily be over 20 degrees inside when it’s well below freezing outside.
12v electrics from 116ah carbon foam leisure battery so it can be used in winter without the battery coming to harm. 2 x 100w solar panels keep the battery topped up. There are lots of USB points, 12v sockets and various lights – background, reading, kitchen area and main lights.
Storage cabinets around the interior and then lots of storage in the rear for outdoor kit, skis, surfboards or anything you would store away from the interior.
There is room for 2 children to sleep on the fold down platform. When in use, the seating area can still be used.
Space for a portable toilet under a moveable side seat.
A gas tight locker to hold a gas bottle and seal it from the interior.
Onboard water and waste tanks.
The conversion is as new. I created it as a show piece for conversions and after several, I am now doing different work so someone can hopefully enjoy it for off grid adventures.
