Peugeot J7 – 2 Litre
We have loved owning this head turning little van (that we call Claude Vancois!) and have taken him on many great adventures including trips to Cornwall, West Wales, Wye Valley and last year to France where he loved being the bride’s wedding car as well as a bar and photo booth in the later hours!
Engine and Bodywork
Claude is a Peugeot J7 purpose built camper van that was manufactured in France 1980 but looks incredibly good for his age. He was imported from France and registered in the UK in 2016. His body work is in very good condition. He has a 2L petrol engine and a four speed gear box. He is left hand drive so perfect for trip back to his home in France. The previous owner drove him 6000 miles across France with no problems. He had full service and passed his MOT in July 2019 and due to his age will become tax and MOT except in January 2021! He enjoys life in the slow lane and on our trip to France we set the Sat Nav to no motorways and had a brilliant time driving with the passenger doors open (which is legal due to his door security chain) across the backroads of France. When he is not out on the open road he is stored safely away indoors in secure storage compound. We also have a winter cover for him worth £250 that we will provide with the sale.
Since owning him we have made several mechanical alterations and have installed a new clutch, fuel pump, break pads, indicators and adjusted the main beam lights to make them more suited to UK roads. All work was carried out at RAC approved garage.
Claude is not only pretty on the outside he has a lot to offer on the inside! With the exception of the gas hobs, he is powered by the solar panel. This means you are completely self-sufficient. No need to stay in campsites, your energy is free and you are too! The solar panel is 300W, French made (brand V-SYS), associated with a Victron regulator of 30 amps in order to convert the current coming from the solar panel to the leisure battery. Effective in summer as in winter. There is a a battery indicator to help keep an eye on how many volts you have. There is a 12V (cigarette lighter type) plug to charge all small appliances from the leisure battery. We also have a separate 12v to 240v inverter that we will provide at no extra charge (pun intended).
The van is classically decorated throughout. He has a fresh French farmhouse feel which reflects his French roots . He has a wood ceiling and panel work with a beeswax finish.
You have everything you need to feel at home.
Including;
A Double bed which converts into a dining area, new wood table

Awning
We will be very sad to see him go but due to our family getting bigger we need to let him go to a new home and go on new adventures!
The bed is at the rear of the van and converts into a table. You can sleep across the van or if you are tall then there is a purpose made extension to the bed so you can sleep length ways. Having said I am 6ft 2” and tend to just sleep diagonally as the bed is so wide and can fit me, my wife and our small baby in comfortably!
