This sunshiney, well-loved, super-reliable and efficient ex-AA van is all ready to go on adventures with everything you would need, or it could be a wonderful project that you can personalise with all the boring bits done for you (e.g. DVLA conversion, insulation and lining, swivel seats, side window, electrics, diesel heater, tow bar with electrics).
Rare end-kitchen conversion allows for a full-size double bed, much comfier than the usual rock-and-roll beds a lot of the off-the-shelf campers have. It also makes socialising easier especially when the front double seats are swivelled round, and if you park somewhere with a nice view, it is much more comfy to sit and look at it. If that’s not enough to convince you, an end kitchen allows you full-length van storage for things like bikes and skis. I can easily fit 2 bikes inside, sometimes 3.
The tailgate is a perfect instant canopy to shelter you from the rain, and even prepare your meals underneath. Lovely warm LED ceiling lights, 2 USB charging points, 2 12v lighter sockets all run off the leisure battery which charges up either when the engine is running or you are hooked up to the mains. 240v socket for when hooked up to mains at a campsite.
The Eberspacher D2 diesel heater will have the van toasty in 5-10 minutes, even in the depths of a Scottish winter. Good quality insulation keeps you warm for a long time after the heater has gone off.
There is loads of storage, all well thought out for the outdoor adventurer in mind. Sadly for me, my partner also has a van and I drew the short straw as it is a bit too indulgent to have 2 vans between us.
