Fiat Doblo 16v 1.6 Maxi LWB High Top L2 H2
Very scarce high top, I spent months looking for one that hadn’t been used and abused or with bodywork damage. Van trader would list 200 or so Doblo’s but only 2 or 3 of them would be the LWB high top.
1.6 6 speed diesel, 105bhp
Will return 50mpg on a run if not in a hurry and like to look at the scenery as you go!
Been a very reliable vehicle for me, I’ve done 60k miles with it and only let me down once due to a poorly fitted earth lead, a 5 minute fix. Only selling due to having built a bigger van which I use for work a couple of nights a week, saving expensive hotel bills!
50k miles until cam belt next due.
Oil changed and serviced regularly.
Fresh 12 month MOT, with a couple of advisories, one since rectified.
New alternator fitted and new engine battery.
Age related marks as you’d expect but still a tidy looking presentable vehicle. A few little rust marks on roof seems which seems to be common with these, protected with a rust inhibiting paint. The main bodyshell of these vans are galvanised so any significant rusting shouldn’t be an issue unlike many others.
Stainless steel sidebars/steps fitted
A deceptively spacious (for a van of limited size!) and as far as I’m aware unique and cosy layout. The high top allows for an impressive 5ft of ‘head room’. Also comes with an Olpro Uno Breeze inflatable drive away awning which has only been used 3 times if you require some more space.
Having an L shaped twin burner hob and worktop area has allowed for a larger storage area underneath for pots and pans, 20l fresh and 10l waste water tanks etc whilst giving more surface area than may have been possible with a more traditional side mounted set up. The skylight/vent allows not only light in but is placed to help extract whilst cooking. There will be no gas bottle supplied with the sale leaving you to connect bottle/set up of your choosing.
The van has been lined and insulated including recycled bottle insulation pushed in to all the structural pillars and cavities, The 2kw diesel heater ensures you’ll never be cold.
A split charge set up charges a recently replaced leisure battery mounted just behind the bulkhead which provides power to:
12v 22″ digital tv/dvd/dab radio which swings out when required.
Dual USB port and battery voltage meter.
LED light strip above worktop.
6 x roof mounted LED lights with remote control.
2kw diesel heater.
In addition to the storage under the kitchen unit there is a cupboard on one side with a tambour door, shelf above the kitchen unit which is handy for tins and such, overhead storage locker above the cab, underbed storage and a small compartment next to the leisure battery.
NOTE: I realised after taking a number of pictures that the diesel heater controller wasn’t in place on the end of the kitchen unit when I took them as I had removed it to alter wiring run. It is fitted now!
Fold down double bed, high density foam with 1 inch memory foam bonded to top. 6ft 5″ long, 4ft 2″ wide, narrowing down to 3ft at ‘feet’ end. Sleeps 2 fine with feet underneath kitchen unit which initially when planning the layout I thought might be an issue but in reality has worked absolutely fine.
