Detailed Information
Vehicle Description

Renault Kangoo 2001, Automatic 1.4L Petrol. Ulez compliant, with under 45,000 miles on the clock!

The car was taken with the view of converting it, and although we’ve enjoyed starting the process, we just don’t have the time to finish the project. We would like it to go to somebody who has the experience and time to continue the job, however if a camper conversion were not of interest, we would also consider a sale for use as a normal van, at which point the camper fittings would be sold separately.

In terms of the work carried out so far:
The Kangoo was fitted with foil
bubble insulation and insulation made from recycled plastic which is designed to protect from humidity and water getting in.

Tongue and groove panelling runs down the bed side, to offer privacy and added insulation.

A ply and Wineo floor has been fitted as well, with a little hatch for storage, and the bed is fully secured in place.

The bed is a sofa when closed, and opens out to form a bed easily. Dimensions are as follows:

1550L x 440 W pulling out to 760 W.

This is handmade, and comes with two foam cushions that were made to measure. The bed and cushions cost £350 when bought, only a few months ago.

There is a piece of ply cut to size for the sink, however this has not yet been secured in place and the cabinet hasn’t yet been built. The sink is a Domestika campervan sink, with two containers for clean and waste water and a battery powered pump. This retails at £199. Smev Dometic 8005 Campervan Sink Unit KIT 10L.

The Kangoo also comes with the following:
-Krieger 1100 watt invertor, 12 volt- retail price £95

-Digital Multimeter Car Battery Circuit Multi Tester

-The van comes with a full kit for the split charge relay (Durite), as shown in the photo, and a leisure battery. These were bought for £180 some months ago. The battery may need charging up again, as it hasn’t yet been used, but in terms of fitting the electrics of the camper, all elements should be present.

-There are also curtains on blackout backing material that were handmade and will be included.

This was formerly a disability vehicle, professionally converted before I bought the car, and it did very limited miles and small journeys in the local area. Due to the conversion, the floor was dropped, meaning there is more head height for the camper conversion, but please note it does mean the pipe work and petrol tank differ from the standard. My mechanic has been great at working with this, and fixed a minor issue where the petrol pipe came loose recently. From a mechanical perspective, the petrol gauge doesn’t currently work and the petrol pump has a bend, so these will need to be replaced. It all works with regular checks the tank is full, and the van is used daily and drives really well. This is all reflected in the asking price.

The car has a valid MOT until 13.07.2022
and passed with no advisories. The motor fan was replaced with a new one when I bought the van, and it since did journeys of over 3/4 hours with no issue. The car will be sold as seen, no warranty given or implied. For the right person, this could be an exciting project, with a car that is comfortable and easy to move around a city (and Ulez compliant!), yet with enough space for a microcamper.
