I’m selling my handcrafted off-grid Campervan, perfect for a couple or solo traveller. Whether you want to do van life full-time or enjoy more occasional adventures in the UK and further afield, this is kitted out with absolutely everything you need – including a plumbed-in diesel heater, 12v solar (230W) and a wifi setup for off-grid remote working out on the open road.
🚐 Conversion / updates / repairs
Previous owner and master craftsman John owned the van for 5 years, converting it for living and working around Europe. A reconditioned engine was fitted in August 2020.
Other improvements he made include: new timing belt, starter motor, starter battery, drive shaft, brake pads and rotors (rear), lights and accessible spare wheel and mount.
In the past 12 months I’ve attended to all the advisories on the August 2023 MOT, replacing the power steering pump and having a new gear box and clutch fitted. I also added a gas-powered heated shower from Camplux (AY13N5L) which has never been used.
This is a fully insulated build, using thermal foil, wool insulation and vapour barrier. The 12v solar (230watts) is connected to 2 x 120ah batteries. There is a plumbed-in diesel heater so you can travel off-grid all year round.
🛏️ Bedtime
The layout of the van revolves around having a good sleep and enough storage space to live fully off-grid for as long as you like. The standard size of the bed is 150cm long (from back door to kitchen) and 165cm wide. If you’re under 5″10 you’ll be able to sleep two people side to side easily. If more space is required for a taller or starfish sleep, the bed extends to add an extra 30cm, making it 180cm by 165cm.
🛋️ Living areas
The van includes a fridge, integrated sink and gas cooking hob (installed 15 months ago and barely used). The water tank is plumbed into an external filler cap, so you just put your hose pipe inside and wait for it to fill. It is connected to an internal water pump and piped using JG Guest piping. I’ve recently added a brand new tap.
Plenty of seating gives options for dining, hosting and working. A wooden table top pulls out from under the bed and can attach right there for dining or working (for 2), or attach it to the fridge storage box for use at the 360 degree swivel passenger seat. Open the side door, hop out and use it as a standing desk. Nifty!
The cladding is easy to maintain with white eggshell paint, or you can easily change the colour to suit your style.
