Sky the camper van

The design concept for Mamma Sky was to create a balanced space that blends comfort and creativity. I envisioned a home that feels inviting and mellow, perfect for quick getaways or full-time off-grid living. After an extensive search, I found a reliable base van that’s easy to drive and just the right size for city life.

Sky is now a cosy haven, where every detail—from the plush velvet sofa and custom curtains to the finger-joined oak worktop—reflects my love for style and practicality. The panoramic windows invite nature inside, and as sunlight filters through the custom shutters, it casts soft, dappled shadows that fill the space with warmth, making every moment here feel special.

Equipped for off-grid living, Sky offers both comfort and convenience. Two sliding side windows provide fresh air, while the solar setup ensures you have power when needed. The kitchen features a 58L LG fridge freezer, a 4-burner gas hob, and an air fryer. After a long day, you can unwind in the comfortable double bed, perfect for rest.

Sky also includes a spacious shower and toilet, ensuring life on the road is comfortable. For ambiance, it’s outfitted with dimmable spotlights, remote-controlled LEDs, and warm lamps, letting you adjust the lighting for any mood—bright for cooking or soft and warm for a quiet evening.

Sky’s off-grid capabilities are powered by a 410W solar panel, feeding into a 2000W inverter and an MPPT charge controller, storing energy in a 230Ah lithium battery. This setup provides ample power for short trips or extended adventures. The water system includes a 70L tank with a powerful water pump and accumulator, ensuring a reliable supply for showers, washing, and cooking.

Thoughtfully insulated with 50mm board along the walls, closed-cell foam in the roof, and a vapor barrier, Sky maintains comfort in winter and summer, making it the ideal companion for all seasons.

This summer festival Sky has been a dependable companion, taking me all over the UK without faill.
