After 4 years of living in a small van and travelling the world, it was time to upgrade to a bigger van as we have no plans to do anything else, so we bought and began converting Bev to live in for the next 10 years.
However, with over a decade of construction experience, 4 years of vanlife and 5+ conversions under our belt, her sale will allow me to start a small business converting beautiful vans. So without further ado, it is with great pleasure that I present to you the first (or sixth) of the Ritchie Conversions.

Blue Beverley is a 2017 VW Crafter which drives wonderfully and has prettier, softer styling than the newer shape variants.
She’s covered 116,000 miles, which for a Volkswagen is tantamount to ‘breaking in mileage’, and, with the super reliable 2L BlueMotion engine, she is ULEZ compliant so is future proof if you live in (or want to drive in) a large city. She’s a medium wheel base van, which we think strikes the perfect balance between space inside and ease of handling as you can park it in a standard parking space. She also has cruise control, reversing camera, electric windows, Bluetooth connectivity and a 6 speed manual gearbox. The exterior has been left as is, you could easily park this anywhere and not arouse any suspicion that you’re living in the back. However if you like it to look more like a campervan, simply slap on some black alloys, a bonnet bra and some stickers, and you can have it exactly as YOU want it. For the age and mileage, the bodywork and overall condition of the van is very good, as with any vehicle however, there are a few blemishes, but it’s the best example of this vehicle that we could find after months of searching. she’s a good’n.

The interior conversion is one of the best we’ve ever seen. Absolutely everything is hand built from high quality materials and you can feel that this isn’t a cookie cutter conversion, a true Quirky Camper.

All appliances are brand new, and include a:
•Thetford double burner gas hob with glass top,
•20L compressor chest fridge,
•Stainless steel sink with high flow tap connected to a bottle style water system. We would always avoid a large fixed water tank, as with bottles you can fill up pretty much anywhere and carry much more water!
•Fully off grid electrical system by Renogy, with 200w solar panels, 2000w inverter, 50A DC-DC battery charger to fully charge the battery in 2 hours of driving and 100ah lithium leisure battery (more batteries can be added if required, but it’s likely to be unnecessary as the lithium batteries can deliver around twice the amount of power as standard leisure batteries). If all this is confusing for you, I’ve designed the system to be as simple as possible so you’ll basically never have to touch it, and I’ll be more than happy to give the buyer a lesson on how it all works and how to use everything.
•Diesel heater with Bluetooth connectivity and enough power to keep you warm even on the coldest winter night!

This is a real 4 season van and the perfect option if you’re contemplating escaping the rat race and venturing into vanlife! After all, I built it for myself to live in!

The kitchen features a beautiful narrow stave beech worktop, 2 burner hob, sink, 240v electrics (just like a house), usb sockets, subway tile splashback and cupboards/draws handmade to maximise space and make you forget that you’re in a van! There is also a large hatch that accesses the cab, this is mainly designed to allow natural light into the living area, however it also allows access into the front incase of emergencies.

The seating area has two comfortable seats with ample storage underneath with space for a small toilet or dog beds, whichever you hold more important!
There is also a matching beech table that easily slides out from under the bed to create a beautiful dining or working space

The bed is a full size double and is super comfortable! I’m 6’2” and I don’t feel cramped at all. One of the most annoying things about spending time in a van is putting away/getting out the bed, which is why we went for a fixed bed!

Under the bed is a huge storage ‘garage’ with space for bikes, outdoor kit, or anything else for that matter. Under the bed also houses the electrical system, 7kg gas bottle in gas locker, and diesel heater. If you require a shower, there are brilliant portable showers on the market which can easily be kept in the garage and attached the rear doors. Trust me, you don’t need a fixed shower! (I promise!)

She’s priced to sell quickly as I’m keen to go on a quick adventure and then get onto the next conversion! I’d imagine the first to see it will buy her.
