Engine: 1.8 TDCi T230
High Roof LX 5dr
Condition of engine: Good
Fuel type: Diesel
Engine size: 1753cc
Body type: Panel Van
Number of gears: 5
MOT until 17 December 2025
This Van has had 3 owners; the Welsh police force, the previous couple that converted the van and us. The van seems to have been used to transport police dogs originally as it has a roof fan installed when it was purchased from the police and minimal wear and tear inside the rear of the van.

Mechanical work
Although the van has 127,000 miles on the clock, in 2023 the engine and gearbox were replaced. This was due to the old timing belt slipping (which is never good). Then, the full engine, timing belt and gearbox were replaced. The timing belt won’t need to be changed again for another 50,000–60,000 miles. We and the previous owners have had no issues with the new engine. The van has since passed two MOTs and continues to run as expected.

Conversion Description

Reluctantly selling our Ford Transit Connect LWB High-top converted van. The conversion includes:

– a fold-out bed the size of a small double 120x190cm (fits 2 people quite comfortably plus a medium/large dog!) with plenty of storage for bedding, food and other supplies for short and long trips away
– a large power bank (Goal Zero Yeti 200x) connected to a solar panel on the roof that charges it (original box and plug included)
– purpose-built spaces for a water tank (included) and a cooler
– fold-down table
– plenty of storage
– window covers for all windows
– fully insulated and carpeted walls
– ceiling fan

The van was converted carefully by the previous owner using marine grade birch ply to create a minimal scandi aesthetic. The walls are covered with a light grey carpet to provide sound and temperature insulation, as well as being soft to the touch and very comfortable to sit and sleep against. The floor also includes 25mm of insulation covered with ply and grippy terrazzo vinyl. The utmost care and attention has been given to the conversion and it is both practical and beautiful! It includes everything you might need for an off-grid adventure (You can find more about the previous owners and the care they took with the covers here — https://www.quirkycampers.com/uk/for-sale/ford-transit-connect-2-berth-micro-camper/). The previous owners documented the majority of the build on Instagram, showing the cleaning, sound deadening, insulation process, vapour barrier, flooring, carpeting, and the construction of the units. So please take a deeper look there to get a fuller understanding of the features of the camper (@workingfrom_____).

For electrics, the conversion includes a Goal Zero Yeti 200x unit connected to a solar panel that is mounted to the roof racks. This has supplied us with more than enough power for phones, laptops, festoon lighting, heating fan used during cold nights, and more. The roof racks can also accommodate an awning/tarp for additional shelter when parked up.
The camper includes; a water tank, Goal Zero Yeti 200x and solar panel, USB fan, window covers, waterproof seat covers, mattress, fire extinguisher, jack and safety equipment.

In terms of the van itself, it is a Ford Transit Connect 2012 LWB and high-top van, which I believe is the largest model of Connect that Ford made! It has a 1.8l diesel TDCi engine and has covered 127,000 miles but the engine and gearbox (including timing and wet belt) were replaced in 2023 so it has many miles left in it yet! We recently had it serviced and it has a full-year MOT (until 17th January 2026), we also replaced the clutch in the last couple of months. We have the records and paperwork for all work completed. It also includes a full-service history.

It’s been the perfect size to go on 2-3 night adventures with our dog, but it’s also small enough to drive around daily and fits a normal parking lot size perfectly. She’s an old lady but still has plenty of adventures to go and places to see. Unfortunately, my partner and I have both recently had promotions at work and no longer have the time to go on the weekend trips that we had planned to do, and it seems such a waste for it to not be used to its full potential!

We are taking serious and reasonable offers only. The van and all added extras will be SOLD AS SEEN. We’re in Teeside if you’d like to come see it and test-drive it. Feel free to contact me for any questions.
