Citroen Relay L2H2
The Citroen Relay is known for its reliability and economy. The body is galvanised, so no worries about rust. In its previous life as s a disabled minibus, it was subject to regular safety checks. The bodywork is in overall good condition with some age related marks. MOT is due in June 2021; it has covered less than 50 miles since then. We recently fitted a new battery and starter motor and the tyres are in good condition. The vehicle drives well, its more like driving a car than a van, and fits in a standard parking space.
This is brand new 2020 conversion, with some upcycled items. The concept behind the build, was to design a spacious camper, with everything you need on as small a footprint as possible. The givens for this build were: a permanently fixed bed; lots of kitchen worktop space and panoramic views because this is half the reason we go to new places. The van has a rustic finish, combining vintage whites, recycled pallet wood and natural hazel poles.
Kitchen
The kitchen is finished in a vintage white chalk paint, paired with pine worktops:

– 2 ring LPG hob and 7kg LPG tank

Dining area
There is a comfortable dining area in the cab. The bespoke dining table swivels to provide additional worktop space.

Electrics
– 150watt solar panel
– split charging relay that charges the battery while driving

Insulation and heating
– sound deadening mats were applied before fully insulating with recycled plastic bottle and expanding foam insulation
– 5kw diesel heated
Toilet
– portable chemical toilet
Window dressing
– windows fitted with 75% tinted privacy screen
– natural ivory muslin for additional privacy in the rear of the van
– 100% blackout, thermal ivory curtains all round
– fitted reflectix screens in the cab
Finish
– kitchen cupboards finished in vintage white with non yellowing lacquer
– walls and upper cupboards finished in white eggshell
– solid pine reclaimed floor boards
– all wood treated with 3 coats of diamond hard varnish
DVLA registration
– Paperwork requesting a change of body type to campervan was submitted, but DVLA appear to have lost the application! I am happy to provide you with a copy of the letter detailing the changes required for reclassification if you wish to change the V5 to campervan at a later date.
