Unique 1988 Vintage Dodge Bus off-grid Camper

With great sadness, we are listing our vintage bus for sale 😢. We love her but our family is away this summer, we have no longer got access to storage space and we’d prefer she goes to someone in a position to take care of her.

The bus is a really unique Dodge commando ex military bus converted locally in Brighton. She has done about 97k miles and MOT until April 2024. She has a 6-cylinder Perkins engine that goes on and on. Currently running well and ready for adventure!

As with many vehicles her age there is some corrosion that buyers should be aware of. We hav been advised that the chassis is in good condition and the load bearing areas are not affected.

It’s 8.5 metres long and can be driven on a normal UK driving licence through a DVLA exemption for coaches over 30 years old ( exemption from the passenger carrying vehicle (PCV) driver licensing regulations allows a person to drive a preserved or historic bus so long as:
The driver holds a full car driving licence (category B)
the driver is over 21 years of age
the vehicle is more than 30 years old
the maximum of 8 passengers are carried
the vehicle is not being used for “hire or reward”.)

She has recently been fitted with new:
-battery
-alternator
-starter
-master break cylinder
-fuel pump

Equipped with
-1x double bed, 3x small single bunk beds and seats pull to 1x double bed. Space to add a fourth bunk
-250l freshwater tank and 250l wastewater tank
-Propane water heater
-Propane cooker
-300w solar panels that power the 12v power points and lighting
-240v hook up point
– compost toilet
– wood/coal burning stove
– huge amount of storage, bikes can be stored under the bed in the boot at the back

There are not many vehicles like this one around anymore especially with such a good engine and running ability.
She is definitely needing some attention and is a project that would suit somebody wanting to add their own stamp to her, or to upgrade and resell. She could do with a new paint job and the fuel guage needs repair but is ready to drive off and camp in straight away.
