Ford Transit (High Top MWB)
It’s a T250 as it previously had a loading mechanism on the back.
With the help of a mechanic, we have replaced parts that were aged or damaged, the left side sliding door is new and the passagner footwell had been completely rewellded.
Passed most recent MOT (Feb 2023)
We made our conversion so that it is the perfect balance of luxuries and necessities that would benefit us and the way we travel, which is quite often simply. However this also means that there’s lots of room for your own personalisations, additions and adjustments.
Our budget and lifestyle led us to be super conscious about the materials we used, so the van is made up of lots of reclaimed wood and second hand pieces as well as being insulated with wool from discarded packets of Woolcool food packaging.
The design and layout is uncomplicated, we wanted to prioritise having lots of useful storage and areas to lounge if needed eg, the bed that converts into a sofa when packed away and the fridge box which makes for a nice seat for reading and looking out when covered with cushions. It’s also why we chose a high top transit, to have the space to stand and fit over head storage.
The simplicity extends to our kitchen set up and electrics, we wanted it all to function as off grid as we could but still be easy to use and maintain and not too fancy and high tech. So we went for a foot pump sink with a drainage tap from the waste tank under the left sliding door and a travel set of gas hobs with a full gas tank.
Pull out double bed with storage underneath. Can be used as a single/day bed/sofa when pushed in at half width.
