Vauxhall Movano MWB L2H2
This van was well looked after by the company that owned it before me and was serviced every year. I’ve serviced all of the key points since I’ve had it to make sure it runs as smoothly as possible. The tyres (all-season) have plenty of tread, and there’s a new starter battery too. 12 months MOT and just had a major service done plus a brake fluid change. Coolant was done last year too so all the service points are fresh.
This is the 2.3 CDTI 125BHP model which pulls a lot better than the model with a smaller engine.
THINGS TO KNOW:
The only things to mention are about the bodywork. There is some ghosting on the sides from sign writing that was once on the van. The sliding door also has a dint in it, around the handle. There’s also a dint in the sill just below the door with retouched paint.
The air con has been diagnosed as needing a new condenser.
The Propex heater sometimes shuts off in windy weather and the guys at Propex said to send it in for a service to fix it.
VAN FEATURES:

After living and working in this van full-time whilst travelling in Spain last year, my partner and I are selling!
This van has everything you need for off-grid living. I bought all of the best quality products I could find to make life as easy as possible, avoid running out of power, and prevent having lots of issues to fix due to crap tech. This includes a 200W solar panel, 220AH AGM battery, Dometic compressor fridge/freezer, 70-litre water tank with Shurflo electric water pump, 11kg refillable Gaslow cylinder, and a 2-burner hob. It also has a Propex HS2000 heater for the winter months and full Dodo Mat insulation (more info on this below) to keep warm in the winter and cool in the summer. With all the storage space in the back, it’s an ideal adventure van!
My partner and I lived and worked in this van full-time and always had enough power, gas, and water. The gas tank costs around £8 to fill and will last a month if you’re cooking 3 meals a day, having the heating on, heating water for tea, etc. Water for two people, washing up, and cooking lasts between 7 and 10 days. (We stored a big plastic bottle of water under the front seats for showering and that made the water last a lot longer.) For food storage, the 18-litre compressor fridge would hold enough food for us to last a full week, and we’re both meat eaters so needed the space. The fridge uses very little power and can go all the way down to -18°C. If there was lots of cloud cover in winter, driving for around 30 minutes a day to keep the battery topped up.
Perhaps the biggest strength of this van is the storage. My partner and I are climbers and needed lots of storage space for all of our gear. If you’re also adventurous, or you need lots of storage for another reason, this van has lots of it. There is also a fixed fingerboard in the doorway that I will include if you’re a climber.
Because we were going to be living in the van in winter, I spared no expense on the insulation. Sound deadening went on first (reduces traffic noise from outside and makes it feel more private as people are less likely to hear you), then the fleece, and finally the silver insulation mats. 25mm insulation board is on the floor and in the cab separator. The heater never struggled to get up to 23+ degrees in the winter, and even in 40 degree heat the van stayed cool. There’s also removable insulated windscreen reflectors for the cab and the side window. To keep on top of condensation in winter and when cooking, the side window and rear window both slide open (both have privacy glass), and there’s an extractor fan that is essential to have on when cooking and also helps fresh, cool air circulate in summer.
For sleeping, you can use the fixed bed (4′ x 5’7″) or you can pull the bed out to make a large 6′ x 5’7″ (182 x 170 cm) bed. It rests on the seats, and you make it using the seat cushions plus another two larger cushions, which you can store in the boot or on the bed.
There’s also a composting toilet in a sealed box under the bed, complete with drop vent to allow the air to circulate. (We used this in 40 degree heat last year and never had an issue with bad smells.) We also have a portable electric shower that I’m happy to include as it was an absolute game-changer for us and keeping clean.
If you’re going to be working in the van, we have a mini mifi router that I’m happy to include.
For security, this van has a Thatcham Cat 1 immobiliser and alarm with tilt and motion sensors. There is also an internal chain and lock on the rear doors – we didn’t want anyone stealing our climbing gear!
GET IN TOUCH FOR A VIEWING:
If you’d like to come and see the van please get in touch. I’ve done my best to list everything I can think of, but if there’s anything you’re unsure about please do get in touch.
PLEASE BE AWARE: I want to sell before the end of the month so come for a viewing ASAP if you’re interested.
Thanks!
