Van cab has electric front windows, electric side mirrors, air conditioning and a touchscreen Sony ‘Apple CarPlay/Android’ stereo. Drivers seat has a retractable armrest.
Stylish front bull bars and side mirror / door handle chrome covers. Roof rack with wind deflector, rear door steps and rear step bumper cover. Reversing sensors also fitted.
Genuine BMW 5/6 Series 17″ Alloy Wheels fitted.
Recent maintenance work carried out: Front suspension top mounts replaced both sides. Lower ball joint, Track rod end, Torsion links all replaced on both front sides. Brake line replaced due to MOT advisory last year.
Servicing has been carried out during the conversion by myself, a qualified vehicle mechanic.
I have converted many vans in the past, using skills obtained as a qualified vehicle mechanic, licensed aircraft engineer and hobbyist carpenter. I planned to use this vehicle for trips to the sea and mountains with my dog. I am having to sell due to accepting a job opportunity abroad.
I chose this van to convert due to it’s good quality bodywork and interior. Low mileage and good ride. I checked the van over fully before purchasing – as a qualified mechanic, I was happy with the condition.
The rear was stripped and cleaned. Three side windows installed, rear door steps attached and roof vent installed. The floor was battened, insulated, boarded and covered with vinyl flooring.
The van walls were insulated and carpeted, the roof insulated, boarded and carpeted.
A 12v electrical system installed including; a Sterling Power smart B2B charger with solar compatibility, 12v leisure battery, roof solar panel, 12v fuse box, USB charging points, 12v socket charging point, switched roof lights, touch sensitive wall spot lights. Also power for the sink tap, gas shut off, heater system and 12v roof fan.
A 230v external hookup is also installed which includes an RCD and three power sockets.
Water system includes a fresh water container, grey water container, Shurflo water pump, inline filter and accumulator, sink and powered tap.
The heater is a gas powered Propex Compact 1600 with thermostat. Hooked up to a refillable, underslung LPG gas tank via a shutoff manifold. The tank is switched electrically by a switch in the kitchen area. Whilst on the subject of gas, the kitchen sink unit includes a gas hob, also via a shutoff manifold. All internal gas connections have a suitable drop out vent installed close by.
The bed/sofa is made with proper bed slats and a very comfortable Ikea mattress. Storage is available under and opposite the bed/sofa.
Other interior items to mention are; black-out curtains for each window and cab divide, swivel base for cab double seat, Sony touch screen head unit (compatible with Android and Apple).
