VW T4 Compass Calypso 2.4
2.4 D SWB with power steering . MOT completed 21/08/20. Only 56,000 miles. For her age Martha is in good condition body work wise and she starts first time. In the 12 months we spent travelling Europe she did not let us down once. She’s had a new exhaust fitted before we left to travel in 2019 and heavy duty rear coil springs as she had a bit of a low back end.
We bought Martha in 2018 for a twelve month adventure around the UK and Europe in 2019/2020. She’s traveled far and wide, up the highest mountains in Switzerland, along the Italian lakes and through the wine lands of France. Despite her age she never let us down once, but that’s a VW T4 for you.
To make sure we could go completely off grid, (which we did most of the time when in Europe) we added a 120 solar panel, an inverter and a Gas-IT refillable LPG system.
Before we left on our adventure we gave her a full internal refurbishment. We repainted the walls, woodwork and cupboards, reupholstered the sofas and cabin seats and added matching privacy curtains too. We changed the old lino for a laminate floor and changed the worn worktops for oak ones. To give more prep space in the kitchen we fitted a Thetford topline recessed glass lid sink and hob and added an extra flip up work surface. We installed new led task spotlights throughout and a Fiamma 12v turbo vent premium fan with polar control thermostat to keep us cool in the summer months.
The bathroom…. a great update here, we used metro tile effect plastic panelling on all the walls and added a new panelled ceiling and resurfaced the shower tray. We replaced the drop down sink with the slim contemporary stainless steel one and added a new tap, shower valve and shower. The shower also comfortably extends out of the bathroom window so that outside showering or a rinse down after a day at the beach is possible. We also added a huge storage cabinet and matt black accessories as a finishing touch.
We added a Fiamma self supporting awning for shade and rain cover, which gives you an extra covered space to use outside.
Reason for sale, we both have new jobs and they will significantly limit the amount of time we can get away.
