Volkswagen
Bert is a 1979 VW T2 Late Bay Camper Van. Fully restored, restoration completed February 2021 at a cost in excess of £30,000. Receipts available. Bert has also been upgraded with Propex 2000 Heaer and Electric Hook Up with Leisure Battery charege.
The objective of the restoration was to restore the vehicle to its original condition and to provide another forty years of safe, trouble free motoring, plus an interior with a ‘WOW‘ factor. This has been achieved by dipping the body shell to remove the paint, any filler and most importantly rust, replacing lots of body panels and the fitting of many new mechanical parts. Full details are available on – Bert-the-van.co.uk – (highly recommended you visit) but in summary new parts include front brake discs, callipers and pads, all brake pipes and hoses, front and rear wheel bearings and seals, complete engine rebuild including reground crank and new bearings, new barrels and pistons, new cylinder heads, new wiring loom, front and rear lights, column switches, laminated windscreen new engine start battery, new leisure battery, etc.
New interior, upgraded front seats (taken from a Porsche Boxter) with electric rake adjustment. New Rock n Roll rear seat. A fridge, two ring burner and sink with electric pump and fresh and waste water containers and a fold away table make it ready for your camping adventures.
Tax and MOT exempt though it passed the MOT in February.
