Detailed Information
Vehicle Description

Very reluctantly selling my my 2009 T5 1.9 Transporter. Its been excellent for work and festivals, however we have simple outgrown it as a growing family and now need something bigger. We kept it more on a stealth camper theme, as it was still used for work and moving my side lines photobooths around in. Just didn’t want people to be able to look in at what remained quite a large load area in back.

it has 2 keepers – I have had this vehicle since 2016 through work originally and the keeper before that had it from 2010/new. It was bought from a large company who provided it with an amazing history of everything that had ever been spent on the van, which I have kept updated to this day.

It was simply a plain old work van mostly to transport my equipment in until 2021 when an injector failed and blew the engine. Then I got very carried away whilst it was off the road for the full engine rebuild (image attached) and decided to turn it in a van we could use as a family as well as for work.

Its been 3 years (circa 10000 miles) since the rebuild so now does have the odd mark on the paint and a small dent in the back door from a courier opening their van door onto mine (now covered by a bluey long dog sticker).

Coffee Machine not included – its my one must have festival/camping luxury and its going in the next van.

Conversion Description

Complete Dometic Inflatable side hub with additional sleeping annex.
We had a firm retrofit factory front air conditioning to the vehicle (it came out the factory a non ac van and having one of these without AC is awful really really awful for long trips to festivals, we did it once to Cheltenham on the hotest day of the year and after that the £2k cost to retrofit AC felt like the deal of the century)
Had 2 tone paint added.
Facelifted it to a T5.1 with rear door spoilers and upgraded headlights
Fully rebuilt the engine, new pretty much everything including, bearings, pumps, pistons, injectors, turbo, clutch, cams etc all the bits you don’t want to have to get to later.
I even pulled the engine sub frame out and painted that whilst we were at it.
New adjustable lowering kit (although i set the ride height to the max for comfort it can be lowered a lot more
Front brake upgrade
Re-mapped to 160bhp
Solar panel 150W charging, leisure battery, 3000w invertor, split charger, 200AH AGM battery and 100AH extra standard leisure battery.
3/4 width rock and roll bed with seat belts and isofix bracket (which we also made a matching extension for to give more bed space top to tail sleeping)
Both the front crew seats have isofix brackets (passenger air bag disabled but can be re-activated)
Tailored memory foam bed top mattresses
Insulated and carpet lined the van
Installed Truma Saphire rear Air Con
Installed rear cabin diesel heater (direct from main fuel tank no silly secondary fuel tanks)
Installed swivel seat for the crew seat
Sat Nav Stereo android head unit and upgraded front speakers and added rear parking camera
Rear TV
Fridge with icebox
Thule Roof rack added
Kiravans side and rear door recess storage pods added.
Sourced the very rare German spec engine cover trim to tidy up under the bonnet.
Just put a brand new fan and fan control module in the van.
I have just put a New MOT on it and dealt with the 2 minor items flagged at the MOT.
The guys at work call it Triggers Broom, as its had so many new parts its not the original van (I appreciate you have to be of a certain age to get that reference).

It does not have a pop top as I needed to retain a roof rack. It also does not have a hob as the van is carpet lined and I didn’t want it smelling of food odours inside, so we did all of our cooking in the Dometic side hub or outside when camping.

Beds Description

1 3/4 width Rock-N-Roll bed and single bed extension that allows a 3rd person to fit in for a child really unless you know them well. The Side hub has a double bed sleeping annex you can add if needed.
