Volkswagen Transporter T4 LWB Syncro (all wheel drive)
My Volkswagen Transporter campervan for sale. A rare T4, in long wheel base, 2.5tdi 5 cylinder engine with intercooler, and the syncro all-wheel drive system, with diff lock switch.
This four wheel drive transporter is built to go anywhere, never getting stuck off road, but also happy to cruise on the motorway and be driven all day. Iโve used this van mostly on local trips around Norfolk, but also taken to Scotland, Ireland, Portugal and moreโฆ the van is great fun to drive, and feels smooth and car like.
It has a refurbished gearbox, and transfer box fitted around two years ago, with a new clutch. Cambelt 2yrs ago, steering rack replaced 3 yrs ago, and Iโve serviced this yearly. The van has BFG all terrain tires and roof rack with a spare. MOT valid until December 2025.
Some rust and small dents on the bodywork, but the chassis is clean and rust free.
Converted into a camper by myself, using mostly pallet wood, with a tulip wood worktop.
The camper conversion has a sofa bed, with storage underneath, which folds out into a full size double bed with a memory foam mattress. Lots of storage for bedding and clothes on the left hand side of the van, and kitchen cupboards at the end of the bed on the right. The kitchen is set up to the back of the van, so that cooking can be done from the outside or in, with a sink, gas cooker, electric cool box and two-way sliding drawers. This kitchen doubles up as a great camp bar or eating position, with fold out bar stools.
The van is insulated with celotex, bubble foil with vapour barrier, and hessian and sheepโs wool felt as a final finish. There is a leisure battery powered by split charge relay, feeding 12v USB sockets, touch-on LED lighting, two 240v plug sockets with inverter, and 12v socket for the fridge. The vehicle comes with side awning, and insulating window covers, and stereo with Bluetooth and hands free connectivity.
Iโve owned and loved this camper for the last nine years, and will be very sad to see it go, but selling due to a change of circumstances, so is time for it to go to a new home.
