Welcome to the sale of the first Paramount Campers Pathfinder – a true offroad adventure wagon.
I bought this van as a show piece for our new Paramount Campers Transporter kitchens as it was a truly one off eye catching Transporter. I’ve had it about a year now and loved driving it around as a normal van, but now it’s converted it’s time for it to find its forever home!
Just passed a brand new mot with no advisories
Starting with the mechanicals it’s a very capable 4×4 VW. It has the much stronger engine, the 2.0 140 single turbo that doesn’t suffer with the problems the twin turbo one does, and starts on the button every time. It is on 182k miles, which for these engines is barely anything, and will come with a new MOT.
It has a 6 speed gearbox with cruise control so motorway cruising at 70 is no problem at all, it drives just like a normal van.
The suspension has a 65mm lift on it, but has been done the right way by dropping the subframes to line the drive shafts back up again after such a big lift. This means you not only get the biggest VW lift on the market but it drives like it should.
The accessories on the outside really make it a usable offroad vehicle, with a full steel bash plate at the front, chassis mounted recovery points, and rear external wheel carrier it is good to hit the trails. It has 4x All terrain tyres that have only been fitted 1000 miles ago. The van also has a tow bar on the rear should you want to tow a trailer or take your bikes on holiday.
To keep it looking up to date the whole front has been swapped for a T6 front, using the latest LED Running lights and headlights from Transporter HQ, as well as a set of very smart rear LED Light clusters.
The paint on this van is very different to normal car paint, it has a Matt Raptor Coating on it – a super tough polyurethane paint that is incredibly hard to scratch. There are a couple of marks around the van in keeping with age and mileage, so although smart it isn’t in perfect condition.
In the front it has two very comfortable leather seats from an Audi TT, with the passenger one on a swivel plate for when you get to camp. The dash has a double Din Kenwood stereo with Apple Carplay with an inbuild subwoofer under the seats so you can really play the songs out whether they be pop or classical.
There is a diesel heater under the seat that is plumbed into the main tank so as long as you have diesel you have heat, it is fully programmable and means you can use this all year round and stay nice and toasty!

So a brand new design for 2024 this has our new Paramount Pathfinder design. Made entirely from Birch Ply Hex board it is incredibly tough but has the look of a custom design, all CNC cut so it has perfect edges. There are three large drawers on the left hand side, next to a utility cupboard with your fresh and waste water bottles alongside the steel gas locker installed to house a 907 gas bottle. There is one 130aH leisure battery installed.
It has a full height Pop top roof installed with an upgraded SAFARI roof which completely unzips so in the summer you can have a completely open top.
The rock and roll bed installed is very easy to use, and comes with two sets of integrated ISOFIX mounts for your little people. to put it away there is a very easy step which helps you lift the bed back into position.
The van was designed so that, once inside, it feels like a high class little apartment, with loads of worktop space when you need it. The Bamboo worktop flows from left to right and has hinged lids for both the electrical panel and hidden fridge.
The walls are finished with an oak strip insulated panel which not only looks great but helps keep you warm too.
The Fridge is a 25L compressor fridge that runs off the leisure battery – it is removable too so once you get to the beach you can take it with you.
The electric system is designed to be super easy to use but very functional at the same time – It is an all in one Sargeant EC160 kit that runs your 12v and 240V electrics, whilst providing a split charger for charging while you drive, and a battery charger for when you’re plugged in to the mains.
For your offgrid needs there is also a 175W Solar Panel mounted to the roof with a Victron Bluetooth controller so you can track all your power usage and see trends over the last few days.
The level of craftsmanship is generally extremely high. There are plenty of areas where real thought was put in to provide a more pleasurable experience when using the van.
This van has huge rental potential too, as I frequently get asked by friends and strangers on the road if they can rent it. Having looked into it briefly, it would command around £100/day (with most people wanting to book for one week) from spring through to late autumn.
As the designer of this van, I’d be happy to supply a support the next owner with any issues on the inside of the van to be sure they know how to use it. The van is sold as a private sale however as this is my personal vehicle.

Rock and Roll bed – however I can make a lift up bed for the Pop top roof to your design for £350 which would make it into a 4 berth.
