VW Type2 Westfalia Helsinki 1978 2lt original 4 berth interior

Just 3 keepers from new, current owners of last 14 years. It has a recent MOT (although tax & test free) – its as good as it looks in the photos and drives well.

Bodywork restoration includes; new floor, sills, replacement panels wheel arches, window surrounds and front (resulting in a rust-free shell) while all the doors and roof fittings have been rennovated. It’s finished in Pastel White over Senegal Red (as per the original spec).

Electrics, including the leisure circuit and hook-up, have been renewed with an inverter and USB points subtly incorporated.
The Engine – a 1981 1970cc CU (petrol) unit, has done 50k miles. it was a VW fitted replacement at 180, 000 Kms. The push rods and head gaskets have recently been replaced, as has the clutch, complemented by refurbished twin SU carbs, new exhaust and ignition system. Its good to cruise at 110kmh/ 70mph.

The complete original interior has been refurbished and refitted with new headlining, roof canvas, double memory foam for the 2 adult bed in the pop-top and the full size R&R re-foamed and fitted with 3 seatbelts. The front seats have been rebuilt and recovered in black with black panels and dash as originally specified (a set of spare green plain covers are included). The LHD walk-through layout with its 2 wardrobes, 2 cupboards, 2 overhead lockers, swivel table and occasional front table, sink, water tank, 2 hob cooker, fridge box and late-70s Westfalia accessories all help this van retain so much of its original patina, as well as offering a practical full 4 berth arrangements. Other equipment includes; a detachable Fiamma double bike rack, original Westfalia fitted tow bar (with working electrics), thermal curtains for the pop-top, waterproof breathable outdoor cover and an awning.
