Movable Routes are a brilliant business. The Big Red Van gets compliments and visitors wherever I go. The layout is perfect for me and the craftsmanship is really excellent. The storage is well thought out, the materials used are really high quality, nothing is skimped. The details behind the scenes are so well thought out, cubby holes and hidden storage is insulated, lined and dry. I’ve used it right through the year, it’s warm and cosy, and the roof fan is very efficient at dropping the temperature on hot summer days and nights.
The cooking facilities and the water and gas arrangements are brilliant. The Belfast sink is beautiful, the two ring hob can take full size pans and I’ve cooked a family meal on it at a family celebration. The worktop also has an extra pull out surface, ideal for my coffee machine when I’m hooked up to electric. The fridge/freezer is better than my one at home! It’s off grid too, and that’s how I mostly use it. The solar panel easily runs the fridge, lights, water pump and device charging.
The Big Red Van sleeps one or two. I often use the single bed arrangement, I’m 6ft tall and it’s really comfy, the cushions that Movable Routes have put in are well upholstered and have a memory foam top layer.
It’s such a well designed and stylish van, absolutely beautiful. Euan and Rachel are masters of the art of van conversion.
Review: I can't believe I'm lucky enough to own the Big Red Van
